Welcome back, esteemed faculty!

Isn't it always exciting to go back to school? Did you remember to pick up all your supplies? I can't tell you how much I loved my Trapper Keeper. Bless those brilliant people for creating a binder that kids would love. I don't know the story behind that gadget, but I loved it.

Thanks to Mental Floss, we can get the stories behind these 8 back-to-school essentials. Live long and prosper, Elmer's Glue. I used to make my own press-on fingernails with that stuff, I kid you not. Just spread a thin layer of Elmer's magic in the divot running down the center of the ruler, let it dry, then pull it off, lick the underside of one end and, voila, a press-on nail! Ad ink from your favorite colored pen and now you're rockin' your faux Lee Press-On Nails. Genius, I tell you, genius.
