University Enrollment and District Consolidation

Private colleges worry about falling enrollment numbers. Sound familiar? How do we ensure we're not vying for the same students? Our status as a niche university allows us to focus on a targeted demographic and, hopefully, a demo that others aren't already serving. The questions we must consistently ask ourselves: What do we offer that others don't? Why attend our university rather than another?

I know that the pending changes to our hallowed halls is a shock to many and a curiosity to most. In the face of these tougher economic times, many sacrifices are to be made. Education is not immune to the challenges. From our own DOE budget cuts in Honolulu to those in Amagansett, New York. They too must look at the
consolidation of schools and districts. Granted, they're not individual universities striving to come out on the brighter end of our current economic woes, but they are in the same boat. Who will be left standing on the other side of the tunnel?
