I'm no thrill seeker

The Fam and I went to Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park yesterday and had a blast. My friend was right, it is the happiest place on Earth. At least during the chilly month of February where the peak time is a mere fraction of the summer crowds. The staff was friendly, there was an adorable lifeguard at the top of the Tornado ride, the patrons were neighborly, and the children were quite happy. Here's what I learned:

1) It's wise not to get a pedicure the day before visiting the park.
2) Wear more sunscreen that you think you need. Then put on more. You'll still get a great tan.
3) Never believe a child when she says that she's not scared to try the scary rides.
4) A few hours hiking up to the tops of the slides and chasing little ones in the kiddie pools is MORE THAN ENOUGH exercise to warrant an order of the golden fried mahi sandwich and curly fries. Make it a diet soda if that'll make you feel better.
5) The green slide in the kiddie pool is more fun than thought at first glance. I almost drowned upon landing. I had hyper-chlorinated water in my ears for hours. I hurt my nose.

There's more, but I'll spare you. If you haven't gone yet, you should try it. It's not like Castle Park (for those of you who cradle those memories) but we enjoyed it. Maybe I'll go to the beach next weekend... salt water cleans you out rather than lingering in your head for days. Heheh.

Glad you thoroughly enjoyed yourself. I so remember Castle Park; I got attacked by a swan. Apparently at the age of 5, I was unaware of the sudden outbursts of swans.

Swans are dangerous fowl, for sure! They don't tell us that in the story books. Oh yes, Castle Park, I remember carnival rides, but that's about all. Sadness.
