I like to read newspapers. I like the way they feel between my fingertips, the dizzying smell of chemicals and ink, the way words paint pictures when writers are good at what they do, the adventurous layout, the balance of imperfection. They're organic and addictive.
I don't feel the same way about reading my papers online. I do it because it's less wasteful and fewer trees die for my cause. I do it because it's cheaper than buying all the papers I'd like to read. I do it because it's convenient and every paper I could want is just a few keystrokes away. I do it so that I can send links.
Anyone have recommendations for good newspapers? Tell me... what's your favorite pub? Who's your favorite journalist and why?
Are there any faculty members reading this blog yet? Heheh, I know, it's only the second day so what can I expect?!? Let me know if there's anything you want to discuss here and I'll get that ball rolling. Until then, I hope my future posts are intriguing enough to keep you coming back.
